What follows is the guide we would want to read, and the checks below work whoever you end up buying from.
What is actually on offer here
The big international retailers. Cheap, fast, and almost always in the 200 to 260gsm range. Fine if you want something for the couch and are relaxed about it losing shape.
Australian activewear brands. Strong on performance fabrics and technical fits. Matching fleece sets are usually a side line rather than the main event, and sets are often sold as separates at two full prices.
Streetwear labels. Often heavier and better made, usually oversized by design, and typically the most expensive option.
Small local labels. Limited runs, more attention per garment, and you are generally buying from someone who can tell you exactly what the fabric is. Less choice, and you have to wait for a drop.
The four things worth checking
Fabric weight. Ask for the gsm. If it is not published and they will not tell you, assume it is light. We wrote a full explainer on what gsm means and what the numbers feel like.
Composition. 100% cotton feels great and then shrinks. Very high polyester is durable and feels like nothing. Around 80/20 is the sensible middle at heavyweight.
Whether the pieces are sized to match. A lot of sets are two separate garments cut to two different size curves, so your hoodie size and your jogger size do not line up. Check before you buy.
Price for the set, not the piece. Plenty of listings quote a piece price and only reveal the true cost at checkout. Compare like for like.
Shipping and returns
Buying from overseas means two to four weeks and a return process that usually costs more than it is worth. Buying locally means days, and a return you will actually bother with. That matters more than most people account for when they compare prices.

We do not sell separates, because a set that genuinely matches is the entire point.
